Job Summary:
The Warehouse Manager is responsible for the overall management, control, and optimization of warehouse operations, ensuring the efficient receiving, storage, picking, and dispatching of over 10,000 SKUs. This includes accurate inventory control, space optimization, proper stock rotation (FIFO/FEFO), safety and compliance, as well as continuous improvement of warehouse processes to support the company’s FMCG distribution objectives.
1. Inbound & Receiving Management
- Oversee and coordinate all inbound shipments to ensure timely and accurate receiving of goods.
- Verify quantity, quality, and documentation of all incoming products against purchase orders or delivery notes.
- Ensure products are labeled, barcoded, and recorded into the warehouse management system (WMS) upon arrival.
2. Storage, Location, and Space Optimization
• Plan, assign, and monitor the optimal location of each SKU within the warehouse based on movement frequency, size, and category.
• Ensure proper storage conditions for all products according to company and legal requirements (temperature, humidity, safety).
• Continuously review and improve space utilization to maximize warehouse capacity and efficiency.
3. Inventory Control & Accuracy
• Maintain accurate inventory records through systematic cycle counts, monthly physical stock checks, and system reconciliations.
• Monitor and control stock discrepancies, investigate variances, and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure FIFO (First-In-First-Out) and FEFO (First-Expired-First-Out) principles are strictly followed.
• Support Finance and Audit teams during year-end or periodic inventory audits.
4. Outbound & Order Fulfillment
• Plan and oversee the picking, packing, and dispatching process to ensure orders are fulfilled accurately and on time.
• Collaborate with sales, logistics, and distribution teams to prioritize urgent deliveries and meet customer requirements.
• Set performance standards (KPIs) for order fulfillment accuracy, lead time, and dispatch efficiency.
5. System & Process Management
• Manage the Warehouse Management System (WMS) and ensure all transactions (receiving, put-away, picking, dispatch) are recorded correctly and in real-time.
• Work closely with IT or ERP teams to enhance system performance and improve data visibility.
• Standardize and continuously improve warehouse SOPs, workflows, and documentation processes.
6. Team Leadership & Performance Management
• Lead, train, and develop the warehouse team (supervisors, pickers, forklift drivers, stock controllers, etc.) to ensure high performance and accountability.
• Set clear objectives, conduct regular performance reviews, and provide coaching or corrective action where necessary.
• Foster a culture of teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement within the warehouse department.
7. Safety, Compliance, and Risk Management
• Enforce compliance with company policies, occupational health and safety (OHS) regulations, and local legal requirements.
• Monitor safety conditions (equipment, signage, PPE) and conduct regular safety training and audits.
• Develop contingency plans for operational disruptions, product recalls, or emergency situations.
8. Reporting & Continuous Improvement
• Prepare and submit weekly/monthly warehouse performance reports (e.g., stock accuracy, receiving lead time, order fulfillment rate, utilization rate).
• Analyze data and recommend initiatives to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance service levels.
• Benchmark warehouse practices against industry standards and leads continuous improvement projects (e.g., automation, layout redesign, process optimization).
