BASIC FUNCTION of POSITION:
1. Initial screening of all protocols for completeness and local ethical issues in accordance with human subjects protection laws and regulations from the United States, Thailand, and other international regulations and guidelines prior to submission to WRAIR HSPB/Local IRBs,
2. Monitor human and nonhuman subjects research (NHSR) protocols throughout their lifecycle (AFRIMS Scientific Reviews, WRAIR Institutional Review Board (IRB) reviews, AFRIMS approvals IAW policies and procedures from the USAMADC, WRAIR, AFRIMS and other pertinent US, Thai, and international institutions or agencies,
3. Train AFRIMS research staff on Human Subjects Protection regulations, policies and standard operating procedures and provides consultation to AFRIMS PIs on protocol preparation and
4. Maintain Volunteer Registry Database as per Army Regulation, monitors sample testing in support of public health approved under the USAMD-AFRIMS Policy.
Note: This person is expect to get the Certificate of IRB Professional (CIP) after he/she qualified for the exam application.
