The ProMinent group was founded in 1960 in Heidelberg, Germany. The company launched the electronic solenoid-driven dosing pump, along with other water parameter measurements, sensor-controlled technology, and various water treatment systems, which have made the company well-known today as a leading player in the water treatment industry. The company expanded internationally and has 50 subsidiaries in major cities worldwide.

At present, the company provides products and services in two main areas: Chemical Fluid Handling (CFH) and Water Treatment System (WTS) for individuals, private, and public sectors.
