Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Co., Ltd. was established in Japan in 1918 and started operation in Thailand as a Marine Underwriting Agent in 1954 and subsequently established a non-life Branch Office in 1964.

At presents, Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Co., Ltd. Thailand Branch is a member of the General Insurance Association in Thailand and has been permitted to underwrite all class of non-life insurance business such as Fire, marine, Motor and Miscellaneous insurance by the Insurance Commissioner, Ministry of Commerce through the Kingdom of Thailand.
