Role and Responsibilities:
The Wine Specialist should be an integral and contributing factor for the delivery of service excellence in Central Wine Cellars. He/She should strive to drive the financial performance as well as support the Wine Department Manager in the day-to-day operations.
The Senior Wine Staff will be able to receive and stock up SKUs and ensure correct display of items at all times as well as being able to order and track items from FDC/DC/DSD.
The Senior Wine Specialist will also communicate with Head Office and customers in the absence of the Wine Department Manager.
Principal Accountabilities:
Retail
- Actively seek sales and customer satisfaction by proactively engaging with customers
- Perform cashier duties to the same degree as senior cashiers
- Receive new items and ensure that all items are present in the store and correctly displayed
- Keep the storage space orderly at all times and ensure that all items are being turned in the FIFO manner
- Perform and supervise all cleaning duties in accordance with cleaning schedule
- Assist with Shift F2 sales and support Wine Department Manager in preparing, sending and receiving payment for these
- Report low or missing stock to Wine Department Manager in due time
- In absence of the Wine Department Manager, liaise with Head Office for special orders, Shift F2 sales, change in prices and expired items
- Coach and supervise Junior Wine Staff and Product Consultants in terms of product knowledge, sales and display
- Support the Wine Department Manager in terms of changing displays outside the wine shop and ensure the cleanliness of these
- Supervise and coach Junior Wine Staff in terms of cashier duties and work together to ensure that these are properly performed
- Work closely together with the Wine Department Manager to ensure that the KPIs and budgets of the wine shop is reached and succeeded
