Application Engineer
The Application Specialist is responsible for pre-sales technical and application support for products and services and post-sale order fulfillment. Incumbent will support direct and indirect selling resources in assigned territories to achieve sales goals.
Responsibilities
For complex and engineer to order requests for products, services, and spares, responsible to convert request to timely, high quality.
1. Collaborates on selling strategy with outside sales representative.
2. Reviews to determine customer requirements and suitability of product offerings to meet customer needs.
3. Utilizes product and application knowledge of products and services to size and select the proper and to offer alternates if available.
4. Interprets customer terms and conditions making a judgement as to whether terms and conditions can be accepted.
5. Communicates with purchasing to obtain pricing, quotes etc.
6. Make judgements about pricing/discount structures considering the price list and availability of product vs. customer need, overall size of the opportunity, and competition for the product line. Where needed, will liaise with business platform organizations to gather pricing information for more complex quotes.
7. Reviews customer freight terms against and makes a judgement about final freight terms for the quote.
8. Employs technical expertise to answer Customer questions about products/services and pricing; to find correct answers and ensure timely follow up.
9. Follows up on quotes and modifies quotes when required.
10. Reviews the customer purchase order to ensure alignment; works with the customer to resolve any discrepancies.
11. Uses technical expertise to configure for order.
12. Works in concert with engineering, quality, shipping and production to ensure the proper measures are taken to satisfy customer requirements.
13. Maintains communication verbally and electronically with customers, outside sales representatives and distributors to offer support as needed
