Responsibilities

Operations & Documentation

Manage the full export process for EU and U.S.-bound seafreight shipments.
Prepare and verify documents: Commercial Invoice, Packing List, Bill of Lading, Certificate of Origin, Letter of Credit (if needed).
File Shipping Instructions (SI) and issue Bills of Lading, including AMS filing.
Ensure VGM submission per SOLAS regulations.
Coordinate ISF (Importer Security Filing / 10+2) requirements.
Maintain compliance with U.S. Customs, FMC, and relevant agencies (FDA, USDA, EPA).

Customer & Carrier Coordination

Communicate with account owners, agents, and customers about bookings, SOPs, cut-off dates, and documentation.
Coordinate with shipping lines, co-loaders, and trucking companies for container pick-up, stuffing, and port delivery.
Provide shipment status updates and proactively resolve operational issues.
Support the sales team on routing, rates, and U.S. export inquiries.

Compliance & Systems

Ensure accurate data entry in internal systems.
Manage AES filing for shipments requiring EEI submission.
Oversee hazardous cargo documentation compliance (if applicable).

Problem-Solving & Support

Handle operational irregularities such as roll-overs, demurrage, detention, or cargo damage.
Work closely with U.S. agents for smooth customs clearance and delivery
Escalate critical issues with actionable solutions.

Requirements

3–5 years’ experience in seafreight export operations, preferably with U.S. trade lanes.
Strong knowledge of U.S. Customs requirements (AMS, ISF, AES).
Familiarity with shipping line processes, cut-offs, and terminal operations.
Detail-oriented with strong documentation accuracy.
Excellent communication skills in English (written & spoken).
Able to multitask and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
Proficient in MS Office and freight forwarding systems (CargoWise, SAP, or similar).
