Open Position: Packaging Engineer (New Graduated Welcome!)

About our group:
Global Packaging Engineering group is a global team responsible for packaging of finished HDDs, SSDs, HDD components, Retail products, assembled Systems and Systems peripherals. Our group works closely with all Seagate HDD factories (Korat, Wuxi), Seagate Media and Substrate factories (Woodlands, JBS), System design center and contract manufacturers, Seagate Consumer Product group in Fremont and contract manufacturers (in China, Taiwan, Thailand, and USA).
About the role - you will:
- Develop packaging designs for Seagate product and component.
- Develop recommendations according to the nature of the product, cost consideration, legal requirements, and types of protection, i.e. shipping distribution, moisture, chemicals, ESD and automation
- Lead and manage packaging development project and collaborate with concern party both internal and external, required to work cross functional.
- Perform package testing against ISTA/ASTM standards and generate test reports.
- Manage packaging BOMs.
- Manage packaging data in SAP.
- Create and document packaging drawings.
- Communicate/interact with mechanical design team on new products, product refresh and contract manufacturers, Seagate factories, CMT, Purchasing, Supplier Quality/Engineering, Marketing, and external packaging suppliers to drive project meet target.
About you:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science fields.
- English communicable
- SolidWorks is a must and other MCADs can be complementary.
- Statistical knowledge is preferred
- Ability to effectively understand and interpret engineering mechanical design.

Your experience includes:
- Able to understand engineering dwg and 3D model.
- 3D CAD modeling on SolidWorks is desired
- Statistics experience
- Project management with cross functional team participation
