Provide mastering technical skills associated with plant propagation, crop successions, and rotations, soil health, harvesting, and post-harvest handling. Conduct training for the potential suppliers to catalyze product development, application of technology, and market outreach for agricultural production
Work in filed with farmers in business plan development, financial management, and improvements in productivity and market access, such as identifying appropriate equipment or technology and how to use it
Educate farmers on the efficient utilization of inputs, equipment, and technology to improve productivity and sales
Participate actively in local commercial and social events to meet new suppliers
Address issues of food safety and quality and develop solutions to production issues whilst maintaining food safety
Work with suppliers on quality issues and new product ideas
Work hands-on in all areas of the farm's activities. Coordinate with farmer about day-to-day farm operations, from field work to farmers market preparations
Requirements
A Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Agriculture or related field with emphasis on agricultural production or a related science field - Animal Husbandry, Horticulture, Soil science or Land management
Passion for agricultural production development, and commercialization
Good knowledge of physical properties and chemical composition of food and ingredients
Genuine interest in agricultural production, with the intention to continue a career in food industry
