Job description:
The role of non-ferrous metal buyer will procure, create strategies to gain optimal profit, mitigate the company’s risk, research market costs of supplies, identify the best suppliers for the company’s needs, negotiate pricing and contracts with suppliers as well as analyze the current market and future. This position will play a key role in strategic planning and working with various teams to align with grower satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
Analyze the current and future markets and prices of non-ferrous metals.
Conduct research, attend meetings, keep minutes and prepare presentations or reports as assigned.
Create strategies to gain optimal profit, hedge and mitigate the company’s risk.
Negotiate pricing and contracts with suppliers.
Procure raw materials for production process and inventory management at optimal cost.
Research market costs of supplies.
Sourcing suppliers and identify the best suppliers for the company’s need.
Competence:
Knowledge and understanding in selling and buying of non-ferrous metals and hedging.
Ability to assess, and critique the current and future markets and prices of non-ferrous metals as well as risk management.
Comfortable working with all participants, diverse audiences, flexible and able to anticipate change.
Data driven; propensity to use data to inform and make decisions.
Analytically minded; able to perform market analysis and strategic thinker.
Strong communication and negotiation skills.
Proficiency in English.
