Government Pension Fund (GPF) is a defined contribution pension fund established on March 27, 1997 solely for the benefit of officials of the Royal Thai Government (RTG). As at the end of September 2001, GPF manages fund size in excess of BHT 220 billion (for the benefit of over one million members. The membership participation is opened to all eligible RTG officials. However, membership is voluntary for officials who entered the government service prior to the Fund's inception but mandatory for other eligible officials.
