Ensure my category has a long term customer led plan, which drives customer loyalty
Manage supplier performance, identifying and assessing potential new suppliers as well as building long term supplier relationships
Negotiate with suppliers, improving the trading position in a sustainable way
Work with suppliers and the category quality team to ensure product quality is achieved and maintained
Build and sourcing customer/market insight led ranges and product innovation for my department, making sure I cater for all formats, regions and affluence levels
Conduct regular store (and website visits) to understand how my ranges have landed in store, keeping abreast of competitor and category developments to inform future range development
Support my department’s trade, promotions and events plan, striving to exceed KPI forecasts and drive footfall
Deliver my team’s sales and quantum profit budget targets
Support the Supply Chain Plan, helping getting our products in store on time
Develop and leading a high performing team, giving them the opportunities to be their best.
Forecast and manage my budgets effectively, always being cost conscious.

A minimum of 5 years Commercial buying experience.
Having direct experience in Fresh Commodity especially for Meat would be A BIG PLUS.
Demonstrated negotiation, supplier and stakeholder management skills
Appreciation and understanding of range and trade planning
