We are seeking a skilled Fire Fighting System Engineer to support a client project by rectifying, installing, and ensuring compliance of an existing Fire Fighting System. The selected candidate will be deployed on-site for a fixed-term period of 10 months (March 2025 – December 2025), responsible for correcting non-compliant installations, conducting system tests, and ensuring full adherence to NFPA standards and local fire safety regulations.
Installation & Rectification:
- Assess and correct previous installation errors that do not comply with NFPA and local fire codes.
- Install and modify fire suppression system components (piping, sprinkler heads, control panels, detection devices, and suppression agent storage).
- Ensure proper electrical wiring and integration for activation and monitoring.
- Verify and realign sprinkler head placement and piping layout to match fire safety design plans.
System Testing & Compliance Auditing:
- Conduct hydrostatic pressure tests on piping systems to ensure structural integrity.
- Perform flow tests on sprinkler heads and validate water discharge levels.
- Test and calibrate control panels, smoke detectors, and heat sensors.
- Ensure the entire system meets NFPA standards, local fire safety laws, and client specifications.
- Prepare compliance reports and provide recommendations for corrective actions.
Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain detailed records of all modifications, tests, and corrective actions taken.
- Provide as-built drawings and technical reports for client and regulatory approval.
- Document any deviations from original design and obtain necessary approvals before implementation.
Site Coordination & Stakeholder Communication:
- Work closely with the client, project managers, and other construction trades to ensure seamless system integration.
- Communicate technical issues, system status, and recommendations clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Provide guidance on fire safety best practices to site personnel.
