Purpose of the position
The Senior Mechanical Engineer is responsible for delivering the contract requirements on projects within their own design/engineering discipline, with frequent liaison / management of engineers from other disciplines.
The Senior Mechanical Engineer also provides technical guidance and imparts knowledge to Lead Engineers, Design engineers, Graduates and Designers.
Job Functions
- Engineering Design , Develop design works, specifications, requisitions, and ensure all related deliverables comply with applicable codes, standards, project, and corporate requirements.
Provide technical knowledge and support related to machinery equipment and package units.
- Prepare comprehensive technical requisitions for rotating equipment, including specifications, data sheets, scope of supply, and vendor compliance requirements.
- Participate in vendor clarification meetings and technical negotiations to resolve discrepancies, optimize solutions, and ensure alignment prior to vendor selection.
- Attend Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) for rotating equipment and package units to verify quality, resolve engineering concerns, and support other disciplines when related to rotating equipment.
- Coordinate all Mechanical Engineering, team members activities and related engineering discipline and ensure they are produced to the correct level of quality and in accordance with the contract requirements and approved project plans
- Review/Check comment ,Reviewing/Checking all mechanical drawings and document. Ensuring engineering, design quality, and technical accuracy of drawings, 2D/3D models, Material quantities, requisition, specification, calculations, procedure
- Consider QA/QC , Ensure that design integrity is maintained through fabrication through correct handling of site queries and proper application of QA/QC processes.
- Consider Health, Safety& Environment , Ensure continuous improvements are made to all activities with the engineering department with respect to HSE
