Job Summary:
This role is responsible for managing the overall Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) functions within a manufacturing environment. The SHE Manager will plan, implement, and monitor safety and environmental activities, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and company policies.
The role involves a balance of fieldwork and documentation, requiring a hands-on approach to managing safety in a heavy industrial setting. The SHE Manager will also be responsible for training staff, setting safety standards, and managing SHE aspects of facility renovation/expansion projects.
Responsibilities:
Safety Role:
- Plan and review the annual safety activities plan.
- Review and assess conformity with safety, health, and environment laws.
- Plan and monitor safety, health, and environment policies.
- Develop, review, and implement safety regulations.
- Manage all activities related to work-related injuries or illnesses.
- Promote, support, and monitor safety activities.
- Review risk assessments for safety at work.
- Monitor and control safety inspections at work to reduce the risk of accidents.
Environment Role:
- Provide an annual plan for environment activities.
- Review conformity with environment laws.
- Monitor environment assessment activities, both inside and outside the factory.
- Follow up on environment law activities.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Investigate for root cause analysis and possess analytical skills (predictive for preventive would be an advantage).
- Risk assessment and environment aspect skills.
- Knowledge of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001.
- Negotiation and mediation skills.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Provide solutions to solve problems (preventive solutions are an advantage).
- Follow-up skills to ensure plans are executed.
- Training staff and instilling a safety mindset.
- Setting safety standards.
- Managing SHE aspects of facility renovation/expansion projects.
