YY Estimation and Control
o gather the essential information (e.g. size ratio, fabric type, matching requirements, etc.) from CSP and
estimate the YY for existing customers. Reference to historical data to ensure the estimated YY is
reasonable.
o input the estimated YY in the CPA system.
o clarify the essential information with CS as needed for new / special styles.
o make recommendation to the CS / Fabric Sourcing team on the optimal fabric width to maximize the
fabric utilization.
o make recommendation to CS / TGA to optimize the fabric design / repeats to enhance the fabric
utilization.
o seek MM Manager’s review and approval on the YY Estimation for special styles as needed.
o ensure the accuracy of the estimation of CPA YY / fabric booking YY against the actual YY.
o identify root cause for the deviations and plan for corrective actions to enhance the accuracy.
o report cases of deviations to MM Manager as needed.
- YY Accuracy: analyze historical trends (e.g. variance between estimate and actual YY, size ratios,
allowances, etc.) to increase the accuracy of YY estimation.
- System Feedback: provide the GUS team with feedback from the Issue Management System (IMS) on the
CMD related systems as needed
Marker Making
o understand the Group marker utilization targets and communicate to the CMD team.
o monitor the marker utilization performance against the target and take appropriate actions (e.g.
proposing alternate fabric widths) to achieve the targets.
o review the production plan with Factory Planning, Cutting and Sewing to understand the marker requirements.
o produce the marker schedule to fulfill the production plan and assign markers to CMD Senior Associates accordingly.
o highlight any marker delivery issues to Factory Planning, Cutting and Sewing for contingency planning.
- Requirement Specification: collaborate with related departments to obtain specific requirements relevant to the CMD process (e.g. fabric defect, shading problems, etc). Disseminate the information to the CMD team and hold the team accountable for delivering the markers according to requirements.
- Pattern Design: provide inputs to the Pattern Technologist on style engineering from a marker perspective to reduce material consumption while complying with customer requirements.
- Contingency Planning: organize the CMD team to react to production plan changes.
- Cut Plan: hold Immediate Employees (IEs) accountable for preparing the cut plan to the cutting room prior to bulk cutting.
- Mini-Marker: hold IEs accountable for providing relevant parties (e.g. CSP, TGA) with mini-markers upon request for cross checking.
- Special Markers: notify Cutting Supervisor in case of special markers arrangements.
- Continuous Improvement: collaborate with Cutting to optimize markers to enable smooth and effective cutting process while enhancing fabric utilization.
